Charity Oneball Tournament
The qualifier for the annual national charity Oneball tournament was held in glorious weather on 23rd April.
6 competitors took part in an all-play-all competition. At the end of the day Steve-Stuart Matthews pipped Phil Davies to a win on net points.
The 2022 chosen charity is Mind.
Applewood Bowl
Our first internal tournament of the year was held on 9th April, in lovely spring weather. 10 members battled it out, each playing 2 games of Oneball followed by 2 games of 14 point Advanced AC. With 4 players in contention for the hand crafted Applewood bowl, turned by Arthur Lindley (who masterminded the competition format), Peter Gill was declared winner on net points.
AGM
The AGM will be held via Zoom, on Sunday 20th March at 5pm.
If you are unsure about using Zoom , Roseann is happy to give you a user friendly tutorial!
We hope that as many members as possible will ”attend”. If you are unable to do so please let Hilary know.
Winter Roll-up Sessions a Success
It appears a little cold weather is not stopping our members from playing croquet.
The club has been hosting the sessions 3 times a week, where members just turn up, and are drawn at random with a partner, and or an opponent for a 50-minute match. As both experienced and inexperienced players are attending, it is providing a good training ground for the inexperienced players, while the experienced players get to experiment with new strategies.
With almost a third of our membership turning up now, who knows how popular it will be in the summer!

The membership list is available on the court booking system (CBS), not on the website.
Simply log in to CBS, click on the settings “cog wheel” top right, scroll to bottom right and click on “user list”, and then click on “show full names” at the centre top of the list.
