29/12/20   Playing during Tier 4 Hilary would like to remind you that playing croquet is restricted to singles games only and that there must be no double-banking. Lawns must be booked in advance and the names of the two players provided. There will be no roll-ups until further notice. Social distancing must be observed, and the sanitising/cleaning equipment must be used as previously advised.20.12.20 Closure of the Club The Club lies in the borough of Guildford, now designated as Tier 4. As access to the club is via Tier 2 no members can legally access the Club. The committee has therefore had to take the decision to close the Club with immediate effect and it will remain closed for the foreseeable future. The Committee will advise members when the position changes and the lawns can be opened once again.

24/11/20   Re-opening of the lawns Mike Huxley has advised that the lawns will re-open on Wednesday 2 December and that roll-ups will run from Thursday 3 December. All anti-Covid precautions remain in force and, with the exception of the roll-ups, lawns must be pre-booked on the lawn booking system. Co-ordinators are in place for the roll-ups up to and including Sunday 13 December, but volunteers are needed for later December and January. Please contact Hilary if you are able to help.

06/10/20   AC & GC Competition Winners

Pat’s Plate A heavy rain shower dampened the sprits of the finalists, Andrew and Ian, but did not interrupt the match. After much toing and froing Ian finally pegged out at 18:5 to win the event.

Jaws Congratulations to the partnership of Anthony & Jan who were successful in defeating Andrew & Charles in the final.

GC Summer Handicap League Roseann not only played all possible matches but won all except one to emerge as the clear winner of the league. Congratulations to Roseann on her decisive win and to all competitors for playing so many matches.

GC Summer Level Play League After the last match was played there was a three-way tie between Andrea, Mike and Peter with an equal number of wins apiece. The result was therefore determined by ‘who beat whom’ and Mike, having won against both Andrea and Peter, emerged as the winner.
